Partner and Manager Artificial Intelligence Fund, Smith and Williamson
Chris is a Partner at Smith & Williamson, and manager of S&W’s Artificial Intelligence fund. S&W’s AI fund is the first of its kind managed in Europe, and the first to use AI as part of its investment process. Since joining S&W in 2015, Chris, alongside his partner Tim Day, has overseen the repurposing of S&W’s International Equities pooled funds, repositioning the Global and North American portfolios, launching the AI fund, and introducing the AI platform. He joined Smith & Williamson from Pictet where he had co-led the global equities business, and managed Pictet’s North American Equities fund. Before this, Chris worked as a fund manager specialising in the Technology and Financials sectors, first at Schroders, and subsequently at AEGON. Chris has served on the board of early-stage technology companies, and maintains an active interest in early–stage private equity investment. He holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, and is a member at Chatham House.
